The Last Day in Vienna & Heading Home

Saturday morning we did a little more sight seeing before we had to go.

Checking out Roman Ruins right in the city!

I think he is so beautiful.

We met up with the family at Epos (a Turkish restaurant).

It was Vinny's 2 1/2 birthday so he got some cakes...and took a birthday snooze before his play date with Luca.
 Elsie entertained...as always!

We got to hang out a little more before we had to go to the airport. Justin and I were headed to Amsterdam for the night and Mollie and the kids would join us there in the morning...then we'd all head to Oregon.

Amsterdam was cool and we want to go back and explore it. We had an AMAZING view from our hotel room. We ventured out into the night for one drink before going to bed.

I don't often drink canned wine...but when I do...
We went to sleep and woke up early to head back to the airport to meet Mollie and the kids.

Gorgeous!

So many bikes!!
I was honestly very nervous about the flight home...Vinny is a very energetic 2 1/2 year old and it was a very, very long flight. But he was WONDERFUL! Mollie came prepared with iPad games and we all managed to get seats together...it was perfect. I had a few tricks up my sleeve for Vinny...any time he fussed I brought out a new book or toy. He was amazing.

We delivered them to Oregon and stayed for a day before heading home. It was an amazing trip...we travel well together, he and I. It brought us closer. I really got a chance to hang out with Mollie, Andi and the kids and I fell in love with all of them. I feel at home with them...this is where I belong. I was a little sad I was not the first woman Justin has brought to Europe but he made it very clear that I am the first woman that matters that he has brought to Europe and his family even talked about how that other person was just a mess and not a good fit for him or their family. They all think I am a very good fit and I love that feeling. I agree with them...I love them all so much!

It's such a comfort to know you found your place and your soul mate.

Friday in Vienna!

Justin and I decided to do some Vienna sightseeing on Friday...we really wanted to see Klimt's "The Kiss" because the last time he was in Vienna (April 2011) he and I were a new relationship but soooo deeply in love already. He brought me a gorgeous copy of The Kiss as a gift from his trip. He said it reminded him of us. I love it so much. So, we wanted to see that and a few other things...we set off in the morning.

It rained so we got a Klimt Umbrella!

Upper Belvedere Palace - home to The Kiss

Seeing all the original Klimt pieces was amazing...no photograph or replica can do them justice. It was a really great experience and such a beautiful collection.  We saw around 12 pieces by Klimt (many of my favorites) and we also saw works by Monet, Renoir, van Gogh...and so many others. I loved it so much!

When we got back, Mollie, Justin and I left the kiddos with Andi and headed to Dürnstein! This was one of my very favorite parts of the trip! Dürnstein is a little medieval town that is famous for once having captured Richard the Lionheart of England and keeping him in Dürnstein Castle. The castle is now in ruins and you can hike up to them and see them up close...nobody guards it so you can literally be in the ruins. Justin and I got to be in the cell that once held an English king captive! After we came back down we did some wine tasting and headed back to Mollie's house...such an amazing day!

Here we go!

You can see the ruins beyond the grapevines and the town!

So in love

What a great view!

The dungeon! (cute ass...)
